Calorie suicides

I haven’t posted an ad campaign for ages. But this one from Pepsi in Germany is very cute.

They’re chosen to focus on the health factor, with ‘one very lonely calorie’.

It reminds me of the Bunny Suicides series (Little Fluffy Rabbits Who Just Don’t Want To Live Anymore).

Very clever. But… I don’t know about branding compliance. For a brand as big as Pepsi, I would expect to be able to tell what the ad is for pretty easily… it doesn’t seem to correspond with either their old branding or their new ‘we’re a smiley face’ branding.

Pepsi Max is not a name I associate with ‘healthy’ either.

At the same time I feel guilty for putting a downer on some great creative work, so anyway…

You’re right, this is very surprising coming from a company that is investing a lot into branding.
